Special shout-out on the last night of the retreat to Ed and Trey from Spicy Caballero Seasonings.
These guys cooked all night Friday and all day Saturday. They made about the best Brisquit, pork butt, ribs, sausage, and Cole slaw any of us have ever tasted.
Thank you guys for coming out!
The last morning of the Retreat is always bitter sweet.
It’s been awesome folks, catch you all down the trail.
As always, reach out if you need something.
We are here.
Last night of the Winter Retreat.
Had some outstanding chow, with some outstanding Vets.
2018 has been a long year. Thanks to everyone that came out to our events and thank you all for all the support this year!
We can’t do what we do without you!
Day 2 of the Winter Retreat down.
We took a group of vets 11 miles on the water today, saw some history, and had a blast.
Tomorrow is gonna be even better!
Day one of the Winter Retreat.
Camp setup, fishing in progress, participants rolling in.
Good times at Fort Parker State Park.
Glasses up ladies and gents. We lost an outstanding Army WWII Veteran today.
Stan Lee gave us possibly the best on liner on accountability of all time: “With great power, comes great responsibility.”
We are gonna miss you.
It was the War to End All Wars. Over 19 million dead in 4 years…
100 years ago the guns fell silent for the last time over the green fields of France. WWI ended on Armistice Day 1918, a fact that countless white crosses at Meuse-Argonne in mute witness stand.
WWI was a brutal conflict; the like of which is hard to imagine in modern times. Trench warfare, gas attacks, and charges across No Man’s Land into the teeth of the enemy with a stagering casualty rate to gain a few feet of ground.
Minefields still exist in France from the Great War, entire stretches of the Maginot Line still stand, and areas still bear the scars of trench warfare. Farmers regularly turn up artifacts and kit from the War still buried just beneath the surface.
100 years later we remember the War, but forget the lessons.
It was supposed to be the War to End All Wars…
We’ve served with some twisted individuals over the the years, but there are none of them that we don’t call family.
From all of us at UWS to you:
Hey all Veteran guitar owners, if you’d like a free restring, Guitar Center is doing free restringing for Vets all day tomorrow.
